Bangladesh national team head coach Russell Domingo has resigned from his post on Tuesday, confirmed Bangladesh Cricket Board operations chairman Mohammad Jalal Yunus.
'Yes, he has resigned. He informed us through an email on Tuesday night, ' told Jalal Yunus while talking to this reporter on Wednesday.
The BCB appointed the South African coach in September 2019, removing the former Steve Rhodes following the Tigers' debacle in that year's ICC World Cup, held in England and Wales.
Earlier in August of this year a murmur also took place in the country's cricket fraternity regarding the exclusion of Domingo's resignation as well on the back of the Tigers ODI and T20I series loss against Zimbabwe.
However, although he wasn't axed at that time but the board removed him from his role in the T20Is appointing Sridharan Sriram as the technical consultant up to the ICC T20 World Cup held in Australia in October-November this year.
BCB had a contract with the South African coach till the 2023 ODI World Cup, which is set to be played in in India in October-November.
Domingo resigned just two days after Bangladesh lost the two-match Test series 0-2 against India at home.
