The Bangladesh Cricket Board hinted at changing their coaching staff shortly after they suffered straight defeats against India in the freshly concluded two match Test series in Chattogram and Dhaka respectively.
In this regard, Mohammad Jalal Yunus, the board’s cricket operations chairman, emphasized the importance of an impactful and influential coach who would bring qualitative changes in the Test format for the Tigers, who are sustaining a relentless debacle in the longest version of cricket.
‘We need someone who would have an influence and impact on the team… We need that kind of coach. I hope you will oversee a few changes shortly, and we are trying for that as we are aiming to form a very strong team. We said early on that our team must have the ability to play quality and highly competitive cricket,' said Jalal on Saturday in Mirpur.
In the series opener of the Test series against top-ranked India, the home side was handed a crushing 188-run defeat at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, followed by a thrilling three-wicket loss in the second and final Test.
‘We have done well in Tests. We were very close to India in Dhaka, while in Chattogram, if we could bat well, we would draw the game even if we could have won as it was quite close.'
'So let us wait, hope you will see some changes. We are trying heartsoul to do well in Tests.’
