Liton's fifty hands Bangladesh 108 run lead against India

India bowlers kept striking at regular interval that powered them to remove seven Bangladesh batsman at tea of the third day of the second and final Test against India at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.

Axar Patel took 3 while Umesh Yadav, Ravichanfran Aswin, Jaydev Undkat and Mhoahmmed Siraj claimed one wicket each to reduce the hosts to 195-7 in the second innings to gain a 108-run lead.

Liton Das and Taskin Ahmed remained unbeaten on 58 and 15 runs respectively.

Bangladesh were all-out for 227 runs in their first innings while India managed 314 runs.

Bangladesh who made 71-4 at lunch lost other three wickets with Yadav removing Zakir Hasan for 51, his second Test fifty followed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nurul Hasan for a duck and 51 respectively.

Meanwhile Liton has survived twice on 17, 27 and 49 by Virat on the way fifteenth Test fifty.

Bangladesh resumed their innings on 7-0 with their overnight batsmen Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan who remained unbeaten on 5 and 2 runs respectively.

However, the pair could add six runs more before Shanto was trapped leg before for 5 Ashiwn.

In the second wicket stand Mominul Haque who struck 84 in his comeback tie after a six-month hiatus fell for 5 by Siraj.

Then Shakib Al Hasan added 25 runs in the next stand with his partner Zakir prior to his dismissal for 13 by Unadkat followed by Mushfiqur Rahim for 9 by Axar to leave the hosts to a reeling total at the day’s initial break.
