India bowlers kept striking at regular intervals to power the side in the driving seat at tea on the opening day of the second and final Test against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Thursday.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Jaydev Unadkat claimed two wickets each while Yumesh Yadav took one to shorten the homeside to 184-5.
Momunul Haque who made his return to the playing XI after a six-month hiatus, stood on 65 with his new partner Mehidy Hasan Miraz on 4.

Following the dismissal of opening pair Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasam for 24 and 15-run respectively before lunch, the home side lost their skipper Shakib Al Hasan soon after the day’s initial break for 16 by Umesh.
However, in the next stand Mominul and Mushfiqur Rahim added a solid 48-run stand to stitch the innings, before the latter was dismissed for 26 by Unadkat.
Later, Ahwin excluded Liton Das for a 26-ball 25.
