India stand-in captain Lokesh Rahul has suffered a blow to his right hand during the training session on Wednesday ahead of their second and final Test against Bangladesh starting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Thursday.
However, India batting coach Vikram Rathour claimed that his strain isn't serious enough to keep him out of the series finale.
‘Doesn't look serious. He seems to be fine. Hopefully he will be okay. Doctors are looking at it,’ said Rathiur in the pre-match presser in Mirpur.
Rathour, incidentally, was delivering throwdowns to Rahul when he took the blow to his hand towards the end of his nets session. He was seen rubbing the injured area, and was attended to by the team doctor.
Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the Test series after he suffered a thumb injury during the second ODI at the SBNCS.
If Rahul fails to recover from his injury, vic-captain Cheteshwar Pujara is likely to take over as captain.
The touring India are 1-0 up in the ongoing two-match Test series after they secured a commanding 188-run victory in the series in Chattogram.
