Zakir, who bagged his maiden fifty before the lunch and shared a highest 124-run stand in the opening stand for the Tigers in the longest format of cricket, was eventually removed by Ravi Chandran Ashwin after the tea break, securing a 100 off 219 balls sweeping Axar Patel at the boundary through the fine leg.
In the process, he pummeled thirteen boundaries and a maximum.
With Zakir hitting a ton alongside a 67 from Shnato, Bangladesh managed 220-4 while writing this report.
In the first innings, Bangladesh were all-out for a meager 150, while India, who posted a sizeable 404 in their first innings, made 258-2d to gain a mammoth 513-run lead in the second innings.
