Also, it was made possible, courtesy of the Bangladesh openers putting up their first century stand against India in the longest format with the previous best being Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes' 53-run opening stand at the same ground 12 years ago.
With Shato standing on a 141-ball 64, his third Test fifty, alongside the debutant Zakir remaining unbeaten on a 107-ball 54, his maiden fifty, the home side managed 118-0 at lunch.
Still, the hosts needed 395-runs to win the opening tie with one and a half days to spare after posting a disappointing 150 in their first innings.
Earlier, India, who made a substantial 404 in the first innings, declared their second innings on 258 to take a mammoth 513-run lead, with Subhman and Cheteshwar Pujara making 110 and 102 runs, respectively, in the second innings.
