Bangladesh veteran opener Tamim Iqbal was not incorporated in the 17-man squad that Bangladesh Cricket Board announced for the first Test against India starting at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on December 14.
Tamim who suffered a groin injury during a warm-up match just three-days to go to the ongoing three match ODIs against the visitors yet to recover his strain.
However, the selection panel opted for Zakir Hasan as surprise face alongside Anamul Haque Bijoy and Taskin Ahmed but axed Mustafizur Rahman and Mosaddek Hossain in the squad they notified on Thursday for the first of two Tests.
The home side meanwhile has clinched the ODIs by 2-0 with the series concluder to be played at the ZACS on December 10.
