Ravindra Jadeja ruled out of ODIs against Bangladesh

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of forthcoming three-match ODIs against Bangladesh, after he failed to recover wholly from a knee injury that he suffered in September.

Jadeja, who made himself unavailable in the last edition of the Asia Cup, in the UAE following their group stage vie, was supposed to undergo a surgery.

The team India coach Rahul Dravid initially hoped Jadeja might recover in time to appear in the freshly finished T20 World Cup, however, he eventually missed the marquee competition in Australia.

It was not the first time Jadeja has been troubled by his right knee, as an injury to the same joint had impelled him to miss out the ODI leg of India's tour of the West Indies in July.

He has since been undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

According to ESPNcricinfo Shahbaz Ahmed, is likely to be named as Jadeja's replacement for the three match ODI series against the host Bangladesh.

Jadeja's inclusion had been subject to fitness, as confirmed by chief selector Chetan Sharma.

If he isn't ready to line-up for the Test series that follows, it's likely Uttar Pradesh left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar could be included in the squad for the two-Test series.

The three ODIs are scheduled on December 4, 7 and 10 followed by the two Tests to be held from December 14 to 18 and 22 to 26.
