Rangpur Division clinched their second National Cricket League (NCL) title as they managed a five-wicket victory against Sylhet Division on the third day of the final round of the ongoing edition of the tournament at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura on Wednesday.
Chasing down a meagre 88-run target on Day 3, Rangpur reached the target at the very first session of the day.
Sylhet pacer Tanzim Hasan scalped 3-24 while Ebadot Hossain and Rejaur Rahman Raja finished with one wicket each.
Sylhet pacers Ebadot Hossain and Rejaur Rahman Raja removed Rangpur openers Myshukur Rahman (1 off 7) and Abdullah Al Mamun (10 for 16), respectively, early on the day.
However, riding on Rishad Hossain's 20 alongside an unbeaten 29 from Mim Mosaddek Rangpur reached the shore of victory in 23.3 overs.
In the day’s other game at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna the hosts thrashed Rajshahi Division by 9 wickets.
Rangpur’s Abdullah Al Mamun won the player of the match award.
