Bangladesh one-day skipper Tamim Iqbal has been roped by the Khulna franchise for the next edition of the Bangladesh Premier League starting on January 5, said Bangladesh national team director Khaled Mahmud.

He additionally added that the franchise owner who represents the country’s southern part also picked him as their head coach.

‘We [He and Tamim] have joined Khulna for the next BPL’ said Mahmud.

In the previous version of BPL Mahmud worked as the head coach for Fortune Barishal while Tamim featured for Minister Group Dhaka.

Tigers’ former skipper further informed that overseas star campaigners like Naseem Shah, Wahab Riaz, Avishka Fernando and Azam Khan will be vying in their outfit.

The ninth edition of BPL that is scheduled to start on January 5 next year would end on February 16.

Meanwhile the BPL governing council chairman Sheikh Sohel told New Age they are set to hold the players’ draft of the country’s lone franchise competition on November 23 in a city’s hotel.
