The Bangladesh Cricket Board is set to start the tenth edition of the Bangladesh Cricket League on November 26.
With the forthcoming India series in mind, the Tiger cricket administration decided to start tournament with the limited overs game followed by the longer version.
India national team, who will arrive in Bangladesh on December 1, would start the series against the hosts with the ODIs that are scheduled on December 4, 7, and 10 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, before the two Tests.
BCB tournament committee chairman Ahmed Sajjadul Alam said that Duke Ball was introduced in the ongoing National Cricket League for the first time, but the BCL will be played with Kookaburra Ball.
‘Since our home series will kick-off with ODIs against India, we have decided to start the BCL with ODIs. The longer version will take place after the limited over games,’ said Sajjadul.
‘We will use Kookaburra, as the India series will be played with the same ball.’
Meanwhile, BCB tournament committee manager Arif Hossain confirmed that the 50-over ties would be held at the BKSP Grounds 3 and 4. However, they are yet to settle the venues for the longer version matches.
‘The one-day matches will take place at the BKSP Grounds 3 and 4, but we are yet to finalise the venues for the four-day ties as we have just submitted our proposal to the BCB Grounds Committee. Once they finalise it, we will let you know,’ said Arif.
