Bangladesh technical consultant Sridharan Sriram vowed to finish their ongoing edition of the ICC T20 World Cup campaign on a good note with their final Super 12 encounter against Pakistan at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
The game will start at 10 am Bangladesh Standard Time and GTV, T Sports will go live.
With the victories over the Netherlands and Zimbabwe, the Tigers have already made history, as they couldn’t make it at any stage of the T20 World Cup earlier.
Prior to the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup, they secured a lone win against South Africa back in 2007. And now they are aiming to finish it with something monumental against Pakistan in their last and final Super 12 game.
‘One game at a time, one tournament at a time. My goal is now just to finish the World Cup on a good note. I haven’t thought about too far ahead,’ said Sriram on Saturday following the team’s training.
At the same time, he also stressed playing their best to turn the tables against Pakistan.
Bangladesh have featured in 17 games against Pakistan until today but have won on only two occasions while losing in the remaining 15.
Even in their last battle at Christchurch in the tri-nation series, the Tigers failed to seal a single win.
However, Sridharan said, they don’t want to recall their past statistics with the team—not even their last five run defeat against India.
‘We know what challenges Pakistan presents. We played them in New Zealand just recently. We have to turn up and play our best on the day.’
‘I think it is a fresh start. I don’t know what happened in the past. We won two very close games against the Netherlands and Zimbabwe. We lost a close game against India, but that happens.’
