Umpires omitted Shakib's plea: Jalal Yunus
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan requested the umpires to take a little more time to dry the wet outfield properly before they resume the Super 12 game of the ICC T20 World Cup against India on Wednesday in Adelaide but they omitted him.

Citing Shakib's plea, Bangladesh Cricket Board operations chairman Mohammad Jalal Yunus also said that the Tiger captain had a series of discussions regarding the issue with on-field umpire Marais Erasmus that eventually ended in vain.

'Shakib discussed a lot with Erasmus. He was saying that you should dry the outfield a bit more and then resume the game. But you know the umpire's decision is final,' said Jalal Yunus in Adelaide on Thursday.

'Therefore, there was no point to the argument. There was only one decision, whether you will feature or not,' he added.

Pursuing a mammoth 185 when Bangladesh pulled off 66-0 in 6.6 overs, rain interrupted the game, and the revised target was 151 from 16 overs.

Although the Tigers could go up to 145-6, that handed them a 5-run defeat (D/L).

The BCB operations chairman also talked about fake fielding during the match during India's bowling innings.

In a TV footage, it was spotted that India opener Virat Kohli approaching a fake throw from the point; therefore, Bangladesh ought to be handed five runs as a penalty, that also didn't take place dully.

'You have seen it on TV. The fake throw has been brought to the umpire's attention. However, he said, he didn't follow it and consequently didn't go for a review.'

'Shakib had a lot of discussion in this connection even after the game as well.'

He further assured to talk about it in a proper forum.

'It is not that easy that we would hold a board meeting regarding this. The situation is not like that. Still we have a plan to talk about it in a proper forum,' concluded Jalal Yunus.
